At Rockford Public Schools we believe in creating opportunities for staff to grow.

RPS 205 teachers have access to more than 250 in-district professional learning opportunities annually. Additionally, all RPS 205 employees are eligible for many post-secondary learning opportunities through numerous partnerships with higher education institutions. We are committed to helping employees reach their full potential.

Aspiring Teachers Program

The Aspiring Teachers program lays a foundation of success for student teachers. Student teachers who participate in the comprehensive year-long training will receive $15,000 annually and are eligible for benefits.

RU Urban Education Master’s Program

Rockford Public Schools and Rockford University have partnered to create a tuition-free Master’s of Education degree in Urban Education. The goal of this two-year cohort program is to create culturally responsive and scholarly teacher leaders who are equipped to promote student achievement in Rockford.
