Child and straw

child readingparent and childrenEarly Childhood families brought autumn to life as they celebrated the magic of our community at Midway Village. Scarecrow Fest is an annual family event for the early childhood families (prenatal to 5 years). The families were met with the crisp fall air and sat on the open field to create their scarecrows. So many creative ideas were coming to life on the field including Batman, Thing 1 and 2 as well as mini look alikes. The children were given the opportunity to read with guest readers in four languages, Spanish, English, Hindi, and Arabic. The families were also able to create their own paper bag scarecrows as a parent child guided activity to promote fine motor skills. There were hundreds of smiling and tired faces at the end of the night...parents, children and scarecrows.
