World Book Online

An online encyclopedia with sites that can be used at any grade level; as well as, resources in Spanish, Arabic, and French.  Current RPS 205 World Book Subscriptions: 

  • EARLY LEARNING
    For Early Childhood and Kindergarten students. Site has games, activities, stories that can be read aloud and videos. When in student mode, a voice tells students what their mouse is hovering over so they can click on what they want.

  • KIDS
    Online encyclopedia for grades K-5. Students can topic search, or type in keywords in the search bar. Also has games, maps, activities, science experiments and a dictionary.

  • STUDENT
    Online encyclopedia for kids grades 6-8.  Students can topic search, or type in keywords in the search bar. Has a Maps/Atlas and Citation builder feature. Articles can be translated into many different languages and can be read aloud in several languages.

  • ADVANCED
    Online encyclopedia for grades 9-12. Articles can be translated into many different languages and can be read aloud in several languages. Has links to newspapers from around the World.

  • TIMELINES
    Has ready-made timelines across multiple subject areas. Also allows students to create their own timelines. Can add photos to timelines.

  • DISCOVER
    Encyclopedia for grades 6-12. Students can topic search, or type in keywords in the search bar. Includes a Life Skills section which could be a good addition to the Seminar Curriculum. Also has a World Book Explains video section which would support multiple content areas.

  • ENCICLOPEDIA ESTUDIANTIL HALLAZGOS
    The Kids version of the encyclopedia, but in Spanish.

  • KIDS ELEARN
    The Kids version of the encyclopedia, but in Arabic.

Tumbleb​ooks​

Tumblebooks is an engaging library of  more than 100 children’s books for students PK-6 that range from beginner to intermediate reading levels. Stories are animated and read aloud while visually highlighting the sentences that are being read.
