Several Rockford Public Schools team members attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new YMCA Good Shepherd branch, located directly across from West Middle School. This new community center will not only offer daily YMCA programming but will also dedicate youth-only hours from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. on weekdays, creating a safe and enriching environment for families in the northwest part of our city. This will be especially beneficial for students attending West, West View, Welsh, and Conklin.

Come enjoy Jefferson High School Theatre Troupe's Fall Play - 8 Minutes Left.
The world is coming to an end at exactly 4:44PM today, and no one has any time to prepare. 8 Minutes Left follows the residents of Charlesville, NJ as they navigate their final moments on this Earth - from a couple with a bunker in their backyard who can’t quite figure out how to get in, to two elderly frenemies who fight over their favorite park bench, to a mother observing her children on the playground as she wonders what their lives would have become, this thoughtful and keenly observed play manages to find the intimate humor of humans in crisis.
Performances at November 15th & 16th @ 7 p.m. & November 17th @ 1 p.m.

LAST CHANCE: The State Board of Education has added Middle Eastern & North African (MENA) as a race for state reporting. When you enrolled with the Rockford School District, you were asked to select your race from White, Asian, Black, Hispanic or 2+ races. Families can update their student’s race in the district’s records. This helps us identify supports & services for students. It’s not mandatory, but if you want to update it, please contact your school’s main office by Monday, November 4.
